Job Summary: Help lead the sales effort for GENERAC Power Systems products within a defined geographic assigned territory. Establish and develop relationships with local channels of GENERAC Distribution, energy firms, electrical contractors and end users as your customer base. Gain GENERAC brand awareness and acceptance in a very aggressive market and focus on industrial standby product sales of medium and large KW products in addition to sales support for all GENERAC product lines as well as parts, service and contract maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify your customer base within the assigned territory; Guardian Dealers, Electrical Wholesalers, Developers, Municipalities, Electrical Contractors, General Contractors, Consulting Engineers and End Users.
Establish a sales coverage plan for face to face time with all of the above points of sale on a weekly basis.
Drive the quoting activity by focusing on electrical contractors, picking up plans & specifications for various jobs, work on design/build projects with ECs, and look for Turnkey opportunities with the current customer base and Energy Systems Construction Group.
Utilize Energy Systems established quote system and job file requirements for total support of all available opportunities.
Coordinate quotation workload with General Manager and Inside Sales and Service Support Administrator to ensure maximum communication and coordination of sales potential and to have all sales data entered into CRM for tracking on a weekly basis.
Offer leasing on large dollar opportunities to help win business.
Report competitive field information; pricing, products, personnel changes etc., know your competition and share with the TEAM.
Utilize good communication skills using Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint for TEAM and customer communications.
Support corporate marketing initiatives; seminars, training, trade shows etc.
Back-up entire sales forces for TEAM support when required.
Develop product and industry knowledge on a continuous basis with GENERAC and other market leads.
Develop knowledge of competitive brands; make a competitive comparison when bidding jobs to make sure we are bidding the right equipment.
Attend weekly sales meeting for review of open proposals, status of in-house orders and discuss issues with any job or bid.

Minimum Qualifications:
4 year degree and/or adequate technical and sales experience
5 years outside sales experience with knowledge of the bid-spec market (preferred)
Ability to identify and qualify customer needs, develop sales strategies, negotiate and close profitable projects
Strong organization and planning skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and CRM
A team player with the ability to interact with others inside and outside the organization on all levels
A self starter with exceptional drive
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; stoop; crouch; bend and reach above shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, waist high, up to 10 feet away. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing, and shields for required tasks and closed toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies.
